    Facilities
    At Newcastle, all our student accommodation sites are situated within easy reach of the University campus and city centre. There is a range of catered and self-catered accommodation to choose from, all providing a great environment for both studying and socialising. Family accommodation is also available, and international students are guaranteed accommodation in their first year of study provided the application is submitted before the specified deadline.
    The University library is the only library in the UK to be awarded the Government’s Charter Mark for excellent customer service four times in a row, in recognition of the high-quality learning environment available for students. The University Computing Service provides more than 1,400 PCs in 44 cluster rooms across the campus.
    Scientific facilities include the Wolfson Research Centre for the Institute for Ageing and Health, new laboratories for rheumatology, anti-cancer drug development, archaeology, food and nutrition, and refurbished laboratories for studies in environmental engineering, geotextiles and plant biology.
    The Culture Lab at Newcastle is a new £4 million cutting-edge research facility that brings artists, scientists, engineers and social scientists together in a creative hub. The Lab’s facilities include multimedia studios, a live event space and work spaces equipped with the latest digital technology.
    Student life
    Newcastle University is situated on a single-site campus and combines the best aspects of a strong campus identity, with its location in the centre of a lively and historic city. Newcastle is one of the most exciting, friendly and cosmopolitan in the UK, and is fast becoming an internationally renowned centre of culture and science.There is an extensive bus network and underground metro transport system with stations close to the University campus, making transportation around the city quick and easy.
    The University has one of the best track records for graduate employment in the country, and the Careers Service has won seven prestigious national careers awards in recent years. We also have a chaplaincy which welcomes people of all faiths, and there is a mosque on campus, a Hindu Temple nearby and a synagogue within five kilometres.
    The Students’ Union lies at the heart of the campus, and supports over a 100 student societies, the Student Advice Centre and the Job Shop, which helps students to find part-time work in the city. As a city, Newcastle is a fairly inexpensive place for students to live compared with many other places in the UK.

    The Robinson Library is the main campus library and has resources for all subjects except medicine and law.

    The Walton Medical and Dental Library is in the Medical School and serves the needs of the Medical, Dental and Biomedical Sciences

    The Law Library is located in the Law Schoool and provides extensive resources for all those engaged in learning and researching law.
